BEIJING (FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2018) – Novi Sad Al Wahda (SRB) won their 3rd FIBA 3×3 World Tour title in the Chinese capital on October 28 after finishing the season with a historic 32-0 record.
The Serbian squad defeated Riga Ghetto (LAT) in the title game 20-18. Agnis Cavars had a chance to tie the game with just 2 seconds to go, but his 2-pointer bounced out.
FIBA 3×3 World Tour Bloomage Beijing Final MVP Dusan Bulut led Novi Sad in scoring in the final with 7 points, Dejan ‘The Maestro’ Majstorovic added 6, while Karlis Lasmanis was the leading scorer for Riga with 9 points.
Novi Sad Al Wahda won their third 3×3 World Tour title in Beijing without losing a single game in the season, stretching their unprecedented winning streak to 32.
In the individual contests of the Bloomage Beijing Final, Kiran Shastri (Delhi 3BL – IND) dominated the shoot-out and Vadim ‘Miller’ Poddubchenko (UKR) won his 2nd FIBA 3×3 World Tour Dunk Contest Final after defeating 5-time winner Rafal ‘Lipek’ Lipinski (POL).
The seventh edition of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour featured 9 Masters, starting in Saskatoon , Canada on July 21-22, and also stopping in Utsunomiya, Prague, Lausanne, Debrecen, Mexico City, Hyderabad, Chengdu, and Penang. The Final brought together the winners of all Masters and the rest of the teams, which finished in the Top 12 in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour season standings. Prize money on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour topped 1 million US dollars for the first time in 2018.
